The Air Hogs Helix X4 Stunt remote control quadcopter is made for performing stunts and tricks. It’s called a quadcopter because of the 4 fan blades which power it. It doesn’t look like a regular remote control helicopter but has an advanced aerodynamic design and cool black and red styling.
The Helix X4 is sturdily built to hold up well and survive frequent crashes so that kids can practice stunts. Let’s take a closer look to see what you get.

Air Hogs Remote-Control Helix X4 Stunt Quadcopter 2.4GHz Review
Perhaps the first thing to say about the Helix X4 Stunt Quadcopter is that it’s not designed for little kids. The recommended age range is 12 and over, so it’s aimed at teens and adults.
Second, you need to understand that it’s not a normal remote control helicopter. Most reviews say it’s much easier to fly than a helicopter, so it’s an excellent choice for people who get frustrated with the difficulty of keeping remote control helicopters in the air, as well as those who want to practise skills and stunts.
This is a unique looking flying toy that does not look much like the average remote control helicopter. It’s been specially designed to perform stunts and aeronautic feats, which it does well provided there is not too much wind. It’s probably best flown indoors or on a windless day.
The 2.4GHz remote adjusts the signal strength according to the distance. This is great for flying at bigger distances but it does mean that you’ll use more battery juice when the quadcopter is further away. It recharges through the remote or the USB cable – you get around 6-7 minutes of flying time for each 20 minute charge, always an issue with RC helicopters. The included instructions are easy to follow.
The quadcopter is pretty well made with damage protection for the rotors in case of crashes. You’ll find that hovering is quite simple and is probably the first thing you’ll learn to do. Then there are three different built-in stunts that have one-button click controls: the back-flip, the barrel roll and the 180 degree flip. It’s the four separate rotors and the four-way controller that makes it so controllable and gives it the ability to perform multiple stunts and tricks.
If you’re familiar with other Air Hogs RC helicopters and flying models you’ll be happy to hear that the Helix X4 Stunt Quad Copter is much more responsive and easier to control than many other Air Hogs products. It can take a little time to get used to the workings of the remote control for the four rotors, but with a little experimentation you should be right up to speed very soon.
Overall, the Air Hogs Helix X4 Stunt Quad Copter remote control is a good choice for anyone new to remote control helicopters or anyone interested in stunt RC flying. The experience is unique and you’ll have all your friends wanting to take the controls!
