Fisher-Price See ‘n Say The Farmer Says Toy Review
Virtually all little children enjoy naming animals, singing songs and playing games based around them and the sounds they make. The See ‘n Say Farmer Says from FisherPrice is likely to become a classic favourite in any preschool child’s life.
Its roots go right back to the 1980s, but this modern version of the toy has extra features. The animal sounds are built in, and even compared with the versions from around 2000 it has more features, with the quiz, the ability to sing along with music and play different animal-themed games.
Combining learning and fun, the Fisher-Price the Farmer Says See ‘n Say should give toddlers and pre-school age children hours of fun playing on their own or with an older child or adult. Bright colours, animal pictures and the interactive nature of it make it a very attractive toy for kids of that age.
To play, the child can point the arrow to a particular animal and pull the lever. The toy mimics the sound of the animal. There are also more animal sounds to listen to, increasing it to a total of 16. Older children will also enjoy the quiz game to test their knowledge regarding animals.
A few things to note: first, the lever is not easy for young children to pull. It needs to be pulled all the way down before it works. If your child is not strong yet, you may need to help. Another issue for little ones is that the quiz can be confusing if they are not old enough to understand it. It asks you to point to the animal that makes a certain sound and won’t switch back to the other mode until you get it right. For these reasons, very young children will need help with it.
The manufacturers say age 18 months and over but if you want your child to be able to play with this alone, you’ll probably need to wait until they are two and a half or three years old. On the other hand, if you get it for them when they are younger and help them with it, they will probably love it from an early age and will be excited to gradually discover its different capabilities.
Overall, this is a simple but very popular Fisher-Price toy for young children. They will find it a lot of fun and that’s what matters. Its durability and potential for years of entertainment definitely makes this toy worth buying for a child.
