10 Top Christmas Toys 2014

The famous London toy shop Hamleys have revealed their list of the 10 top Christmas toys 2014 – and the focus is definitely on high tech. It’s getting to the point where parents will need help from kids in getting the toys up and running! Read on to see what your children will be longing for this Christmas…

Since Hamleys is a UK company, some of the toys may not be available in other countries yet. Keep checking back.

1. My Friend Cayla Doll

My Friend CaylaOur rating: 3 stars

Here’s the new trend in dolls – not only does Cayla talk, but she understands what you say, and answers your questions. Suitable for age 5 and up, My Friend Cayla can tell stories, and even play noughts and crosses.

It’s not surprising she’s on thousands of little girls’ Christmas lists! However, we are a bit surprised she took first place on Hamleys’ list. The app is supposed to work on any Android smart device as well as Apple, but to access some of the interactive features you need an iPhone or iPad.

The doll has trouble understanding what some kids are saying, especially with younger children or those with an unusual voice, but then don’t we all! A lot of little girls love her anyway. Visit our My Friend Cayla review to see videos of her interacting with real kids, and decide if she’s right for your child.
