VTech Baby Toot-Toot Animals Safari Review
This set is known as the VTech Go! Go! Smart Animals Zoo Explorers Playset in the USA. Based on the VTech Toot-Toot train playsets, it introduces animals that move along the track instead of trains, singing as they go. The set comes with one interactive animal. The track has 7 smartpoint locations, and many safari park or zoo features. There’s plenty for kids to do and enjoy. So let’s take a closer look.

VTech Toot Toot Animals Safari Park Playset Review
VTech have made some excellent kids’ toys that are both educational and lots of fun. The VTech Baby Toot-Toot Animals Safari Park playset (a.k.a. Go! Go! Animals Zoo Explorers playset) is a fine example of an educational interactive toy that’s so much fun, kids won’t realize they’re learning while they play.
Billed as a safari park in the UK and a zoo playset in the USA, it resembles VTech’s Baby Toot Toot trains, with very similar plastic track with VTech’s patented SmartPoint technology. This interacts with the animals (or trains) you push along the tracks, and delivers words, phrases and songs to help kids learn.
Just about any child loves to learn about animals and interact with them, even toy animals. VTech have capitalised on this to produce a playset where kids push animals round the track. One animal is supplied and more are available to order separately.
VTech Baby Toot-Toot trains will fit on the tracks but other brands may not. You can change the layout of the track as often as you want – there are many different possible combinations.
Kids can enjoy seeing their animal meet challenges when they go through the 7 different zoo/safari park feature areas. If you want more animals, be sure to order VTech Smart Animals because they will trigger the activities at the Smartpoints, and this is where kids get to join in and learn.
So how is it educational? The Vtech safari playset helps a child to learn and develop in a number of ways. They have the chance to learn First they have the chance to improve their coordination or fine motor hand movements by pushing the animal(s) along the track and, later, putting the track together and changing it into different styles. They learn sing-along songs and phrases, names of animals, as well as letters and colors.
We noticed parents were reporting one issue with younger children – it’s not that easy to put the track together, but it is very easy to break apart! This is why we think it’s probably better for age 18 months and over, maybe even 2. Anyway, this didn’t stop Toy Insider picking it for their best Christmas toys list.
Kids of 2 years and up are going to be more careful with it, and they’ll start to be able to put it back together themselves. A baby of 12 months is likely to try to pick up the track, so it comes apart, then chortle with glee and expect you to sit down and put it all back together. Fine if you plan to always play with it with your child, but not so great if you were hoping to do something else while he or she was absorbed in the Baby Toot Toot Animals safari playset (or the US equivalent if you’re in that country).
On the other hand, as we’ve said, learning to put the pieces together is part of the child development opportunity that the VTech Toot Toot playsets offer to children.
The set is well priced – you get a lot for what you pay. It teaches kids some important basics as well as bringing a whole new dimension to the ever-popular train sets and race tracks by having animals move around the scene, instead of always in a vehicle. It’s colourful and appealing for kids. A very good purchase for a child around 18 months to 4 years old.
